What is Resistance?
Would you wish to be anywhere but in the present moment? Resistance is simply put, the unwillingness to accept what is in the here and now exactly as it is. Identifying resistance within ourselves can be very obvious or very difficult to identify.
Why Avoid Resistance?
Resistance in the most elementary terms means you’re saying to the world, “I don’t like it the way it is.” However, the world turns and is exactly as it is meant to be – which means the more you resist, the more unhappiness you create.
Acceptance and surrender allow you the freedom to enjoy life more and do away with unwarranted suffering. Accepting things the way will diminish the negative thoughts and ways of being and promoting positive change. When you accept something, it becomes more flowing and amenable. The initial step to losing weight is accepting your body the way it is. The first step to ending an argument is accepting each party’s stance.
