What is Active Nutrition?
Active nutrition, or more commonly known as sports nutrition is a specialization within the generalized field of nutrition that partners closely with the study of the human body and exercise.
This does not mean that you have to be a professional athlete, rather it refers to anyone that lives an active lifestyle. Whether you are an active gym member or love running on the beach at sunset these activities have an impact on what your body needs as far as nutrients and calories. Thinking about our diet and the food we consume as fuel driving our bodies to work at its best we need to become conscious and aware in order to find the right balance to function at peak performance.
In short we are looking at taking basic nutrition knowledge and making it have practical application within our fast paced every day lives. With the use of food journaling we can identify current behaviors and customize a daily meal plan that is individualized to compliment activity levels while promoting overall health and wellness.
