I just jumped off a call with Cordelia Gaffar,...
I talk a lot about sustainable living, the act of finding balance in the everyday, being present, grateful, aware of your nutrition and incorporating frequent exercise into your schedule. This concept also focuses on nurturing good relationships both personal and professional, treating yourself with kindness and patience, finding creative ways to express yourself and following your passion and purpose. I want you to believe in yourself. You are beautiful, strong, and able to accomplish anything you set your mind to. Life is precious, don’t waste energy on activities, people, and materialistic things that are not driving you towards your goals. Don’t be afraid to fail, to fall down, to embarrass yourself, to be honest, speak from the heart and learn from your mistakes. Be curious, have passion, laugh often, cry some, learn to live life on the edge, because that my friends, is where life happens. Stories are not found inside a place of comfort and security. Move onward, leave old habits behind and embrace success, no matter how you define it. You will get there; that I am certain.
I am a professional chef, writer, yoga & meditation instructor, sports nutritionist and adventurous traveler. I believe in running away from comfort zones and embarking on a journey to discover your passion and purpose. I help women across the globe achieve their goals, teaching them to chase their dreams and embrace what makes them unique. Success and happiness are not defined by digits on a pay slip, an executive title, or material things, but are attained by finding your life’s purpose and working hard at it.
Find balance. Learn to live life through experiences, welcome opportunities, eat healthy and love fully. My hope for you as the reader is resonance–that you will feel empowered and confident to begin or continue your own journey exploring the magnificent world around you and the strength you have within you.
We are all one-of-a-kind. There is no reason to compete, but rather women should foster their individual qualities and use them to bolster one another to greater levels of accomplishment. Acknowledging the value in sharing experiences and encouraging one another is why I do what I do. I love having conversations with women from around the globe, gaining insight and understanding that not only serve to influence my life, but is a resource that is best shared to create a brighter tomorrow for the masses.
I am a small-town girl from Iowa.
I worked my way through high school and college waiting tables.
By 25 I had three degrees and was a top manager at a four-star resort in the Phoenix Metro Valley.
I was on my way to having it all, the American Dream.
One big hiccup disrupted my reality. A nasty end to a horrible relationship was the wake-up call I needed.
I woke up from living life complacently, inside my comfort zone.
I wasn’t happy, and I hadn’t been for some time. I was living without purpose and intent.
I had been living my life through a man, trying to live up to society’s standards of success without taking into consideration my own dreams and goals. Why?
I needed that aha moment, the slap in the face to realize I needed a massive change.
There was no turning back.
I decided to chase my dreams, and the first step of many was moving to Europe.
What friends and family thought would be impossible became my reality.
Leaving behind the crushing lies that spiraled out of control – and unaware of the magic awaiting me – I leaped into the terrifying, dark chasm of uncertainty. Knowing fully well there were absolutely no guarantees, I boarded the plane to Belgium.
That was the best decision of my life. I got comfortable with being uncomfortable.
Change can be scary, but it can also be exhilarating, propelling us to new heights we never thought were possible.
Never let the haters and nonbelievers convince you that life is meant to be lived within the confines of someone else’s limitations.
I have had many influencers come into and out of my life teaching me the valuable life lessons I want to share with you.
It won’t be easy, don’t be fooled. Stand up and face the challenge straight on, and you will reap the reward. Making lasting sustainable change takes time, hard work and determination. I didn’t get here by taking anyone’s handout. I didn’t have rich parents. My parents were divorced, a horrible melodrama that had a significant effect on my adolescent years. While they were dealing with their own affairs, I spent long hours studying and working two jobs to get to where I am at today. At 22 years old, I was the youngest general manager at the resort where I once worked. I had the salary, title, and all the responsibility that came with it, but in the end my soul was not satisfied.
Only when I started to be honest with myself and what I wanted most out of life, did I come to find what I had been looking for.
The journey has already begun, it is your choice where it leads you.
