Closure
“If you are brave enough to say good bye, life will reward you with a new hello.”
Paulo Coehlo
Closure is something we all seek, yet rarely find. Life moves on and slowly yet surely issues, problems seem to fade into the backdrop, but do they ever really go away? For instance, if you have a confrontation with your spouse or your best friend, say it is a big argument, do you seek to address the issue quickly trying to resolve the problem or do you let it fester? Maybe with time whatever the disagreement was about doesn’t seem to have as much weight so you just move on not wanting to rehash a tender subject. Is that really closure, sweeping the uncomfortable conversation under the rug and just merrily moving on with life? Often times if we do not find closure, issues will come back to haunt us, reappearing down the road to wreak havoc in our lives.
Can you think of any loose ends you have left undone, words unspoken, or apologies not given?
With the recent appearance of the full moon on July 31st I read a very interesting article. This moon was very special in fact, not only because it was the second full moon in July, but because it was the notorious Blue Moon. We have all heard the saying, “Once in a blue moon,” right? Well, in this article it said that this moon was meant to bring closure. Reflect back to August 2012, the date of the last Blue Moon and the time that has lapsed since. It is said that this period was one of great change.
I am not asking you to believe in the stars or the universe because I know astrology for some is a little farfetched. What I hope these questions offer is a little more clarity. Take a look at the past three years and see where in your life things may have been a little out-of-control or messy. Look for answers, bury the hatchet, turn the page. Whatever has been left unsaid, say it and move on once and for all. Find closure so that your tomorrows will welcome in new opportunities and foster healthy relationships.
